Our school week

Every day, school opens from 8.30am when the children gather, check-in with classroom staff and peers, complete work or attend interventions or read.

Registers are taken at 8.40am and close at 8.45am, and learning begins immediately. This is one reason why excellent attendance and punctuality are so important.

In most classes on most days, Reading, Writing and Maths will be taught in the mornings, with all other subjects being taught in the afternoons.

Breaktime is 10.30am-10.45am and lunchtime is 1-2pm. Teachers can decide when to take additional breaks according to the needs of their classes - these may be incorporated into learning, include organised games such as stuck-in-the-mud or be an additional breaktime.

Collective Worship

Like all schools we gather together for collective worship every day (Prayer and Liturgy). Typically, this will be 10-10.30am as follows:

Monday: Whole-school Prayer and Liturgy (usually based on liturgical calendar or global/national awareness days or events)

Tuesday: Class Prayer and Liturgy (a time for the class to gather together for Spiritual Reflection, led by pupils); there may also be an Epic Playtimes assembly on Tuesdays

Wednesday: Sung Prayer and Liturgy

Thursday: Buddy, Class or Key Stage Prayer and Liturgy

Friday: Celebrations Prayer and Liturgy

Each class holds their own special Celebrations Prayer and Liturgy once a term, which their families are warmly invited to attend.
