Reception Applications (Starting September 2026)

1. Attend an Open Morning or School Tour

Visit us to explore our school and meet our staff and children.

2. Apply online via Kent County Council

Submit the Reception Common Application Form (SCAF) by 15th January 2026 online at

3. Send us your Supplementary Information Form (SIF)

  • Complete our Primary SIF and return it directly to the school (not KCC) by 15 January 2026

You can either email it to schoolsecretary@st-augustines-hythe.kent.sch.uk or hand in a paper copy at the school office.

If relevant, please include a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate or a reference from your faith community.

4. Check our policies

Our Admissions Policy and Privacy Notice are available on our website or from the school office.

 

In-Year Applications (Year R and Years 1-6)

If you wish to join St Augustine’s outside the normal Reception intake:

1. Arrange a visit

Visit us to explore our school and meet our staff and children.

2. Complete the In-Year Application Forms

Fill out the In-Year Common Application Form (IYCAF), and send it directly to our school office.

You can either email it to schoolsecretary@st-augustines-hythe.kent.sch.uk or hand in a paper copy at the school office.

You should also complete and return our Supplementary Information Form (SIF) at the same time. 

3. Submit supporting documents

Include any relevant documents, such as baptismal certificates or other faith references, with your SIF. These documents help us to fairly rank applications.

4. If you wish to appeal

If your application is not successful, you have the option to submit an appeal. A copy of your application and SIF will be submitted to the Appeal Panel.

 

Appeals Process

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2026, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Thursday 16th April 2026).

You must submit your appeal before Tuesday 20th May 2026 for it to be considered. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
